Our season will be starting in the next two weeks by the look of things.

I want to be ready with the CDL Hobby RO by doing the rinse/soap wash/rinse with the membrane BUT after doing that how long can it sit in the dry RO before the first sap comes? The membrane has been stored in sodium metabisulfite since last season.

I want to get this done and be ready for the first run, but I don't want to do it too soon.

I believe you need to leave permeate water in it until you are to use the membranes.

I have a CDL Hobby RO. If I don’t have any permeate, I use a Carbon Block Filter with regular tap water with no issues.
It filters out chlorine etc, just don’t use with sap.
I do a big rinse 150 gal plus when I shut down and again before I start up.
Works just fine for me. Good luck with your season, it’s been a doozy down here this year.
