@tapdrinker I’m breaking in a brand new Starcat as well. It is an impressive little rig. It took me a little trial and error to keep a hard boil going but I hit 7gph tonight. Glad I made the purchase.

I have the Starcat also. Set the stack up yesterday, just need some sap to flow to get started.

I think you’ll enjoy it! I had been boiling on various “hand crafted” setups and I’m amazed at how clean and soot free making syrup on a real evaporator can be :)

I put a blower on mine. leaf blower into 3/4" pipes underneath the grate. cut the wood to about 2-3" pieces worked best for me. Needs to be smaller than a fist size.
