Last spring I put my membranes in preserving solution, Early winter I was working in the woods and fell backwards and landed on my hip. Long story short I am not going to be able make syrup this year do to a hip replacement coming up. My question is should I drain them and put a fresh solution in ?

I would think that it is not necessary to put in a fresh solution as long as they are submerged completely. Sorry to hear you fell and need hip replacement surgery, but it is nice it is fixable. As I get older I am trying to be more careful in hopes of not causing something like that to happen. Good luck with your surgery.
