Tapped 210 today. Ran pretty well. Just checked some of the big producing trees and they were running about 3 to 5 gallons per tree. Check sugar content in 2 big trees-1 ran 3.5 the other right at 2, maybe sugar will be somewhat higher this year??? Temps will reach 55 tomorrow, then dive down to the 20's Wed. This is weather in So. Indiana! FYI

Well James Klein we ran 210 trees and took home a little more than 330 gallons of sap. Tank check of sugar was 1.8 -1.9. We boiled today and so far we have gotten right at 5 gallons of syrup on about 220 or so gallons of sap. But a wicked storm hit last nite with 80mph wind gusts and plumeting temps (from 50 degrees to 14 this morning) and a winter storm watch is coming for Thur nite. But man sugaring was good while it lasted! I think this is going to be a banner year for all of us. My neighbor collected Tuesday and had a whopping 2.7 sugar content. Granted his trees have no competition and are all out in the open but 2.7...wow! Chin up James, Good sugaring is a comin!
