I Have a Cdl 18x60 I’m wanting to bump up the evaporation rate a little. I was thinking about adding a small blower to the back of fire box on the opposite side of ash door. Will ash/fumes blow out of the front door? Pictures of similar rigs and experiences would be great thanks
Here’s a blower I was thinking I would used and just bolt it on the the arch

Highly unlikely as long as the stack has a good draft. I ran high pressure AOF and AUF with a non air tight front on my 3x8 evaporator. I didn't get any smoke nor sparks out the front with the door open to refuel. The draft up the smoke stack drew it all into the stove and up the stack.

I think the blower you reference should be ideal for that size evaporator, maybe even a 100 cfm bower. I used to install outdoor wood boilers, even the smaller ones used a 100 cfm or slightly bigger as a combustion blower. Many used Dayton blowers in the 110-150CFM range.

I have a very similar set up and used a blower for several seasons. A switch is mandatory to turn off the blower for loading wood. You may also have to moderate its output in order to minimize sparks and ash from blowing out of random cracks as well as the stack. Partially covering the intake of the fan is the best way to accomplish this.

Personally I found the noise, on/off switching, and ash to be quite annoying and so I stopped using it in favor of an RO (which sadly also makes noise).

Thanks for the input. It will be a fan speed controller, I wedged a similar blower but much more
Output into the ash door on my last boil last season and I was impressed but it was a little fumey in the shack. It could have been just my Jerry rigged set up.
