Curious what mixture of Maple Sugar and White Sugar most producers are using when making Cotton Candy, are maple association is mixing 1 part maple 4 parts white. Seems to work pretty good even though we mix a batch the night before it is used, really does not give the maple sugar a chance to flavor the white sugar. We have association members that make and sale a lot of Cotton Candy, they usually mix the sugars three weeks in advance of a event.

I usually do 1 part white to 2 parts maple. Have done 1 to 1. Works ok if it too humid. Usually mix just before use. Have tried straight maple. That makes a sticky mess. I use dark or very dark to make sugar because it gives more maple flavor to cotton candy.
