What is anyone with a Deer run 250 seeing for concentrate and permeate flows? My flows are almost opposite this year with my new MES membranes in it. Permeate is 1.5per minute and concentrate is 4 per minute. I even double checked with Ray to make sure both u cups go on the top. Could the membranes be upside down? My understanding is the first membrane flows upward and the second flows downward.

I just went through this solo and then with Ray. Yes, both o rings go on the top but the direction needs to be oriented correctly in order for them to function properly. As you are standing, facing the towers, the one on the right flows from bottom to top and the one on the left flows from top to bottom.
Make sure the open end on the o ring is facing down on the right tower and up on the left tower. I battled this for 4 weeks this spring before finally figuring it out. Give me a call on my cell 603-454-4311 and I would be happy to help out.

Yes , this is how I have this set up right membrane with flow arrow up and u cup as you have it; and left membrane with flow facing downward and u cup as you have it….. what flow rates are you seeing?

Somewhere around 3 gpm permeate and 1 concentrate.

I have a Deer Run 250. My best rate with clean sap and good temps on a first pass is C= 1.0, P=2.4.
Thanks for starting this thread. I'm always wondering if I'm getting the most out of my RO. Clearly, I'm not.
I had a 125 and had Ray add the second membrane. It was already in the canister. I can only hope it was going the right direction!

Something else I've wondered about with my flow rates is with the valve wide open. It only goes to about 4.6 or 4.8. I would expect it to be pinned with max flow over the membrane. The high pressure gauge also reads a little bit of pressure like 5ish inches? when I would expect it to be zeroed out.

Spoke with mark from nh and he suggested replacing the o rings , so took it all apart and replaced the upper and lower cap inner and outer o rings, put brand new out of the package mes membranes in it and flushed with a few hundred gallons of permeate. Started it up and seemed to have better flows, I had the pressure around 250 and the cap blew of the top again. Put it back together and now I’m back to only being able to get about 1.25 on the permeate and 1.75 on the concentrate. At this rate I will never get any syrup made. I guessing the sudden loss in pressure ruins membranes
