Pan size

Is there a rule of thumb for the size of the boil pan for the amount of taps. I'm think of building an oil barrel evaporator and am wondering what size pan I would need for 15 to 20 taps.

The rule of thumb for flat pans is one gallon per hour per square foot. So if you want to calculate pan size you'd need an estimate of how much sap you'll be dealing with at a time, and how much time you want to spend at it.
