I've installed a couple hundred Sap Sak (blue bags) taps recently, I am looking for a good way to carry my drill as I go from tree to tree. What works well for you?

Lowes has a nice belt holster.

I have used the dewalt drill holder that goes on your belt or toolbelt for the last 5 years and like it. Just make sure your jacket isn't really long or it gets in the way when putting the drill back in every time. They make one for the 18v series and the 20v series which fit the tool a little different so look for the appropriate one.

CLC Custom Leathercraft belt hook. Works great for $9.99; holds the drill good, nothing else.

I carry a shoulder strapped tool bag. Drill and hammer go in the bag. Along with repair fittings for my tubing. Drop setups get looped around the shoulder strap.

Dropped the drill off the belt hook one year and bent a tapping bit. Drill hasn't fallen out of the bag yet.

Are one of these like your shoulder tool bag? https://www.amazon.com/s?k=shoulder+tool+bag&crid=3ROLNHHVPN06Z&sprefix=shoulder+tool+bag%2Caps%2C123&ref=nb_sb_noss_1

Yep It would most be like the large Amazon standard bag. Which is the first search result.

Mine is a Husky one from home Depot. It's a large size which around a 19" opening on top of the bag. Really basic and has gotten the job done for me for a few years now. It's my syrup season "go bag".

When we are tapping we use a six foot long leather shoe lace with both ends tied to the handle of the drill. Then hang the drill from your neck so that when you let go of the drill it hangs in front of you about mid-drift. If you also put a short leather loop on the handle of your tapping hammer you can drill the hole drop the drill grab a spout out of your pouch flip the hammer handle into your grip and set the spout all in one fluid motion.

I put the drill in a bucket along with my spouts and hammer.

I've used several methods, I think I liked the one I used with a firewood carry (just a flat canvass with a handle at each end) like this:
https://www.amazon.com/MyFirePlaceDirect-Firewood-Carrier-Firepalce-Reinforce/dp/B07L8TGP9Z/ref=asc_df_B07L8TGP9Z?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80401843598286&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584001420401913&psc=1
But not necessarily that exact one. I tended to like one that when doubled and carrying everything it was wide enough to completely cover some drops, my drops are 3' long. I also carry my drill, a spare battery if I'm drilling more than 250-300 holes and some tubing cutters, a bag of assorted fittings and my 3/16-5/16 grip holders with attaching cord for changing inline tees on laterals)

I use a loop of 550 cord and carry it like a sling bag, I wrap it around the handle of the drill, highest on the handle and throw a zip tie to hold it on the drill,$.25 out the door😎

Cord is our answer as well.
Drill one shoulder, Tapping clamp on the other
