I let two 55 gal polybarrels fill with sap and freeze.

I suspect it could be July till it melts. Any suggestions?

It will melt faster then you think. Drain off melt and run new sap in. The stock tank heater is the best quick way. Once you get 1/3 to half melted just run new sap in and you have free cooling. With new sap running in it will all melt in a couple warm days.

My suggestion would be to improve your process if possible to reduce the chances for freezing. Much easier said than done sometimes. And all the best plans can still have problems. I have had the back of the sugarhouse frees the water system twice this year. I thought it would be fine, but the temps dropped more than expected.
Those tanks may not be frozen solid?? May just be a outer layer?? Did you try poking a hole in the ice through the lid??

Supposed to be fairly warm this week, so it will melt and help keep the sap from getting too warm.
