Anyone care to venture a guess on what percent of the season is over? I am guessing that I have probably made 75% of the syrup that I am going to be able to...but this is only my second season so I have little feel for the flow....anyone?

Ed I'm in belchertown , just down the road a peice, and I see still a good 2 or more weeks as long as it keeps freezing, we may have a couple of warm nights coming up... which just may fill the buckets again all night... I'd say we are a little more than 75 - 80% through the season. unless your wanting to make C commercial then maybe longer

I am in NY and I am making better syrup now than I was the first of March. However warm weather is on the way so I am hoping for 2 more good runs then pack it in the first week of April.

Here in Fairfield I've had 2 small runs. 200 gallons maybe. Made about 4 gallons. Hoping for a couple of more weeks or at least a couple good 300 gallons runs.
Take care

Jim,

My red maples budded down here after 4 or 5 nights in a row of warm temps. Hope you will hold out for a while, the weather can change overnight.

Here in southern Maine most people have been tapped for , 4 weeks now so I'd think the tap holes would be drying up soon.?
