I picked up a new CDL 4x40 filter for the Hobby RO this past December...the old one had 4 seasons on it and I thought it was due.

With 2-3 weeks to go, I'm wondering if anyone has any tips on what else I can do to get it ready, beyond soaking and rinsing, that may result in even better syrup.

Instructions say to simply soak for 24 hours and rinse, but I'm willing to go a few steps further if it's going to make a difference in end product.

Thanks-John

usually the manufacturer has the best advice. Stick with what they say

When i remove mine from storage juice i connect the ro to my well pump and process well water for an hour. then when i start processing sap i run both lines concentrate and permeate to the drain for about half an hour. i will not put any concentrate in the pan until it tastes right. This may not be the best way to do it, its the way i do it.
