Sold my 2x6 drop flue wood fire evaporator last year to upgrade to a bigger unit and with the cost of stainless I needed up buying a used 2x6 raised CDL evaporator. Couple questions ive got:
-I already used a 10” stack (previous evaporator) about 16-17’ length but the evaporator stack that came with my new unit is an 8”. I plan on using an 8” to 10” coupler, now my question is does anyone know what the negative pressure should be on the draft for optimal efficiency? I’m thinking I’ll need to install a barometric damper?
- this is my first time running a raised flue, should I be about 1/2” from the ceramic blanket to the bottom of the flue? Also from what I found on an old CDL Manual is My sand in the back should taper down down about 8” from the spacer?
