Walnut Syrup is ramping up, been helping a friend install a tubing system in his walnut trees! He is averaging 100 taps per acre, not as good as Vermont Sugar Bush but not too bad

100 taps per acre would be quite good even in a well-stocked maple sugarbush.

Yes, Dr. Tim 100 taps per acre is good anywhere, I just couldn’t resist poking a little fun towards the northerners, my friend Henry Breenaman always told me a good sugarbush is 80 taps to the acre! Right now my walnut syrup producer friend has 657 drops cut in, with two more mains that need laterals, he will easily get to 1000 walnut taps, very unusual woods maybe 8 acres and all walnut!
