Can anybody recommend a commercially available R.O. system which would be appropriate for purifying the drinking water for my home eleven months of the year and that I can pull out from under my sink and use to increase the sugar concentration of my maple sap for one month of the year? Or, do I just need to bite the bullet and buy two types of R.O. systems? Thank you.

Hey Edward,

We have had people do this with the RO Bucket. I use one to purify water for my camp (from a river). I don’t drink it because I am not there to maintain the RO like I want, and you need a remineralizer if you want to drink the water (add key minerals back in). I just fill a tank with a check valve and it’s hooked to my well pump. In theory the system would be the same.

It gets more complicated with mechanical
And electric shut offs if you want it hooked up to a faucet (as opposed to making batches of water).
