Man, I can’t wait for the sap flow season to start. Everyday I try and find something to do maple syrup related, or buy just another little thing to help, or start to make a list of things to do as I get close, or to have in place for the big day.

When I finally get my pump to pump the sap out off he collection barrels, I will have a few hours worth of work rigging up something to hold the pump and hose on the collection barrel and add some electrical posts on the board, holding the pump, so that it can connect to the quick connect cables and then add the on off switch to my ATV trailer that will be holding the five gallon pails.

In the new year there is still a slight chance, I still might build a RO unit. If I do that, I might drill a hole in my garage for a connector, to pump sap directly from my collection barrels into my raw sap barrel in the garage for the RO.

Now if I still feel this way after the season, goodness knows how many taps or what equipment I will have next year. Either that or go into therapy for the first time in my life.

March could be late February. I know for some, my March is your January and your wait is almost over.

If you're all caught up with your planning and work before the season even starts, I say go ahead and build that RO.
