3x8 single float. Float is on the right side of the flue pan. Float has two inlet ports. Front inlet(closest to syrup pan) goes in a few inches, then 90's toward the front of the pan. The rear inlet, goes beyond the baffel to the left side of the pan, then 90's towards the front of the pan.

My question is which inlet gets blocked when drawing off the right side of the syrup pan?

for those wondering, these inlets are for reversing the flow of the pans, to draw off either side. Basically, run the sap in the same side you are drawing off of, that routes the sap 'the long way' around. Every time you want to reverse the flow, you switch the plug so sap enters the other side of the back pan, and you switch the plug on the front pan, so the 'dead end' is on the other side, where you will draw off syrup.
