A year ago today I was all done, just over 2400 gal/sap boiled off - Today, i'm at 600 gallons boiled - Need some more good weather!

Which is exactly why we like to do 2-3+ years of research on some things before we talk about them.

Sap production here is 1/3 of last year.

If your taps are not too old you should get at least another 600 gallons this coming week if the weather holds to what is predicted.

Might even leave you approaching last years numbers.

While every year is different ... in the end they are all pretty much the same ... just the delivery is a bit different.

And I am not sure why it has become hip to forget about the back half of March a potentially still good Maple Sugaring season in southern NE.

It seems like more people contemplate tapping in December then in March.

But hysteria runs far and wide these days in all aspects of our society.
