600 CDL RO with 2 prefilters

Does the sap go through both pre filters if you only have one tower.

I don't have much experience with our CDL 600 expandable. During the initial rinse with a tech I asked if I needed a filter in both housings if I was using only one tower and was told yes. So based on that I plan to use 2 filters until I learn something different. My only other experience with an RO is the CDL Hobby 250 we used for about 8 years. We'll be using our CDL 650 for the first time this week (or so I plan).

The sap only ever goes through either one or the other. the line coming from the feed pump tees one side to each pre filter and then the lines coming out of the pre filters tee back together before the pressure pump. Having 2 pre filters just gives more capacity before they need to be changed.
