View Full Version : Are loops in 3/16 drops bad?

Lots of searching but no answers yet: On a 3/16 natural vacuum setup, when tap holes are close to Ts, the drop line from tap to T is not straight. Depending on length, it 'loops' sometimes higher than the tap hole, and sometimes lower than the T. So the sap might have one or two short uphill runs before reaching the T. Does this reduce vacuum significantly? Is there a trick to minimizing the loops (wrapping the tree not reliable if drop too short)?

Loops are fine, just keep them below the tap hole.
