Has anyone tried Beeswax as a defoamer? is it a viable option? How is it used?

I use Canola oil in very small amounts. No way I'd use Bees Wax.

I am new to this and have a Thor 18x36 evaprotator. I Had a homemade set up last year but never used an defoamer. This year , with the new set up , I was going to get some commercial defoamer and a defoamer cup. What are your thoughts in this ? I see a lot of people use canola oil. Is that better? Would I also use a suspended cup , or just add a little every so often.

I use a ketchup type container like a restaurant would have with canola oil and add a drop or two as needed, works great.

Beeswax is not for everyone. It can work well for EXTREMELY large operations, but it does leave a residue throughout the pan that needs to be scraped off. It is also NOT vegan since it is made from or by animals. Might not matter to most people, but will to some customers. Simple solution is just not to use it.
