Clean brand new tubing?

I bought 3/16” tubing for my gravity lines, so it’s all brand new. My question is do I need to clean or flush out new tubing before putting it out?

Usually people just run their first day sap run onto the ground to flush out the lines a bit. Maybe that's just to flush out any gunk or bugs that ended up in the lines but i'm sure it wouldn't hurt with new tubing incase there was any type or residue left from manufacturing.

New tubing will sometimes have a little residue in it. Put a cut end to your tongue and you can taste a little bitterness. This will sometimes be passed into the first run of sap, although it seems to dissipate with boiling. If you can flush it or let some sap run on the ground it might help reduce this. Occasionally you'll get the same sort of odor with the first run during the second season as well.
