I was wondering where everyone stood in Vermont ie what are the big wood fired operations?? What is the biggest operation in Orange County?? Oh and another thing I was told I was the youngest sugarmaker with 1000+ taps in VT.. Is that true at 30??
Thanks guys

Maverick in Sharon has about 20,000 taps but they use oil. I think they are one of the biggest in Orange County. I'd like to check out your operatiion sometime. We are only 20 minutes from Bradford. We are interested in getting a RO next year and would love to pick your brain sometime. Best.

well here it is and I could not resist anylonger.. I tapped 2 trees in the yard (6 taps on a small pipe) thay are both soft maples and I was shocked at the sugar content of these.. 2.5% not bad for a soft... I managed 1 gal of sap today and it seems as though the trees have not thawn out youe....
Good luck to all

I love to see the younger people getting involved. It seems as time goes on you either have huge com. operations or hobby ones under 1000 taps. Its great to see more of the middle man mixed in...
