I have my ro in a 8' by 6' shed and it's barely big enough. I would suggest 8 by 8 ft.

Theron,
Is your kitchen going to be heated all the time? If it is then I wouldn't put it in a room at all. My RO room is 8x8---- it can still get pretty small.

Mike- My kitchen isnt heated. Ill have to make a little room. Sounds like shoot for 8 by 8. I think I can get 7 by 8 without changing anything. Some of the people here that I know dont even really have a room I dont think. Looked to me like they made a little closet just big enough for the ro and valves and the front is all door. Didnt look like much. Ill have to take a closer look. Theron

My RO room is 4X8 and that seems to work... It gives me plenty of room to stand and work in front of it and I have a high ceiling so there is no problems getting to the cleaning tank..

Valley view- The perm tank can be outside right? When your talking about cleaning tank do you mean an additional little tank to place cleaning solution? Theron

Theron,
My RO room is about 5x6. Just big enough for the RO, wash tank, plumbing and a small heater. The permeate tank is outside. I will show it to you when you come up.

theron, my room is or was easy to build i made it in a corner then needed one full sheet of plywood for one wall, framed and used a storm door for the other wall. and it is 4x4, and 8 feet high. i had the same r/o as yours and it fit nicely. going to add two feet for other membrane. i made it so the full sheet un screwed to get it in and out of the room.very tight easy to heat. got a little electric heater keeps it at 40 degrees
My RO room is 12x12 insulated and a 20,000 btu wall furnace with a thermastat....I used 1 90 lbs bottle of propane last year.....I have a bottle and a half for this year....I also have a 760 gal tamk in there for my premeat water that i use to clean with....I would like to sell the furnace or trade it for a smaller one.....10,000 btus should be big enough........
