I want to see one in action in person, but i'm thinking pretty hard about a pair of them when i rebuild my larger woods in a couple years. keep us posted if you have one.

I will keep you posted. I don’t know the sizes yet but I will be buying at least 2 this spring.

Contacted CDL dealer to order one and was told CDL does not make this. Is he wrong?

could be in the semantics- it's a sap lifting station, not a true extractor. its in the new 2021 catalog, try looking there and give a page number to them.

This isn't a releaser or extractor but is instead for sap lifting into a releaser. It needs to be coupled with a releaser/extractor. CDL makes a couple different models and the 12v option is only rated for a few hundred taps. The other options are 240V and require power.

Each kit includes the "cabin" and heater and all the parts needed. The basic concept is that the submersible pump (12v or 240V) inside the chamber, combined with the vacuum on the pump out line (from the releaser), helps move the sap uphill and to the releaser.

I have been looking into this as there is a woods that neighbors mine that I will likely be able to lease, but I would need to lift about 6-8' for the sap to run direct to my sugarhouse. I would need to run power about 800' from my sugarhouse as the 12v option is too small for my needs.

Here's a video that describes the system.

It is sap lifter. I went down and chatted with my dealer. Either way I will be buying a few of them because of my situation. He thinks it could possibly be a releaser if there was a check valve into the system. They are to new as of right now. And know one has them in our area. I’m just wondering if the 12v pump will overcome the vacuum. If some has one right now can you please post more pictures or videos on the inside. And how the vacuum comes in would be a big help.

From the CDL youtube video, I was assuming that it's a lifter that works within the vacuum side of your collection system. The 240V system must be capable of an electric releaser function.

Someone posted recently about building a homemade extractor and the 120V pump they chose wouldn't push through the vacuum. I can't imagine a 12V pump running off a pair of batteries.
