For those of you running a 275 oil drum evaporator, (with the makeshift tapered stack utilizing the end of the drum) how are you attaching the Stove Pipe to the evaporator itself? Do you just cut a hole and set it in there? Are you making a flue collar? Also how do you brace it? Pics much appreciated. Its one of the last things I need to complete and then furnace paint!

I know a lot of people use the six inch barrel stove flue that you can get from places like TSC. Just make sure you do not use the damper control if it comes in the package. You want as much air flow as possible when boiling syrup.

I am running a 2x4 pan, and with the design I was recommended that a 7" or 8" pipe would be better. I just cant seem to find any 7" flue collars out there.

Maybe a local hardware store may have them, not the big box stores.
