Anyone have a diagram how to wire up the motorized ball valve (3 wire power open / power close) style? I’m just not grasping the concept of what terminals to use on the PID. It is a 120vac PID.

Without knowing what you have it may or may not be possible if you are using just the PID controller output. Sometimes "ice cube relays" may be used which will have normally open and normally closed contacts that would power close and power open. The Ice cube is driven by the relay out of the PID controller. Maybe this helps?

No help here, mine is fail safe close, in other words power open and holds it open, when needed to close the power is shut off.

I think you could use a relay that the pid would trip one way to open and then when it's unpowered it would close the contacts back the other way and close your valve, however not sure how your valve would do being powerd all the time. My normally closed valve has a limit switch that allows power to be applied while open all the way without damage, yours might be the same, check your valve specs.

Is the output on the pid 120 volts, and if so, is your ball valve 120 volts also? Just want to make sure of what you're working with before offering advice.

Forgot about that, don't want 110 going to a 24v valve, that will let the magic smoke out! Lol

Sorry. Was away. I figured out the schematic. It looks like it will get direct power from my main breaker to keep it closed. The common wire will be just that. The 3rd wire is my power from the PID that opens the valve. I’ll keep my original ball valve on prior to the auto draw to control flow and when I power off the PID I can close down the pan.

Now that wasn’t so hard. Sorry I wasted your time.

Where would best place to mount my control box for the auto draw off? It’s a dual purpose box with auto draw and stack temp / alarm. I’ve seen them mounted both on walls near evaporator and off of side of evaporator?

I have mine across an aisle from the evaporator and I like it there. I ran the wires up, across and back down. All of my wiring is low voltage, like thermostat wire. 3 wires, 1 to the temp probe (actually 2 for probe, I have 2 temperature probes, one for each draw off box), and 2 to the low voltage valve.
