Has anyone used stainless steel mold for making block maple candy? I have the opportunity to buy some rubber molds and included is a stainless steel mold ( 2 pieces) to make block maple candy. The mold it self weight 1 pound. From what I understand you use for making maple candy but it comes out like a solid block that one shaves or chips of chunks to put in oatmeal or coffee etc. The only think I can find is someone does make block maple candy that looks like a stick of butter. Do not know the size of this mold. Any information greatly appreciated.

Crystal Falls, I'm not sure about your sugar block mold. I have a block mold set made by D&G. The kit comes with 250ml size SS molds that you place on a supplied board and clamp them together so the dont leak. They are open ended. I think you can make 40-50 at at time. The mold is more like a large bar of soap not a stick of butter size .If you were to take two sticks of butter and place them side by side and take a 1.5 inches of the length you would be close to my mold.
