I'm finally getting around to pulling taps, was just curious on how some of you guys go about it. I usually run my vac while pulling taps to flush out any sap in the lines and usually just leave droplines with old taps on hang to dry and switch out old taps with new ones during the fall/early winter. This year I'm planning on running water through mainline to make sure no sap is left in the lines but in order to do that I need to have all droplines capped so I can connect my water tank to the mainline and have the vacuum pump pull the water through the mainline. The thing I'm wondering is if I place the old tap in the cup on the tees will bacteria stay in the cap and infect the new tap when I put them on during the fall or is it nothing to worry about? Thanks in advance!!

When you put your new taps on in the fall just let them hang.
