I know membranes can be laid on their sides but can they run completly upside down? I'm adding 2 more 4x40s and it would be easier to have the middle one upside down for plumbing ease. It's all psi so I am thinking were good. Experiences?

I’m not sure what you consider upside down but ours are vertical and plumbed with the high pressure feed going in the bottom with concentrate and permeate coming out the top. Orientation shouldn’t make any difference as far as I know.

As long as you have the u-cup oring on the feed side of the membrane you can orientate the housing whatever way you want.

This is no problem as long as you have your brine seal at the input end they can be run in any position. I have 3 vertices membranes in series, first is fed in the bottom, into the top of the next and into the bottom of the 3rd.
