I'm ready to do my first "end of season" cleaning and storage regiment for my membranes...
I have some permeate on hand for this... And if I need it, I am on non-chlorinated well water. (but its hard water)
As I understand it, this is what I should be doing...
1. Caustic Wash with Sodium Hydroxide PH of 10 100 degF
2. Rinse with Permeateaybe??
3. Acid wash with either Muriatic or Citric Acid PH of 3 d (Whats your preference?)
4. Rinse with Permeate
5. Infuse with a solution for storage... Either SMBS or Propylene Glycol.... Not sure what to do here.??.. I feel like I could fill the RO with Propylene Glycol which would protect the metal parts, keep seals wet and protect against freezing... If I went with SMBS, I would likely remove the membranes and store in canisters... but would still want to treat the RO with something like Glycol?
Any thoughts??
