lapierre 4 inch tower disassembly

Anyone ever take apart a lapierre free standing 4 inch tower. The bearing went bad in mine and I want to do myself.

Changed bearings on one a few years ago.
The impeller unsrews from shaft then you can remove motor.
Make sure to index everything. I would draw a witness line down one side of pump/motor with paint pen.
The seal is delicate and expensive and is usually changed when torn down. If it leaks it will ruin another bearing at some point but if you can change the cheap
bearing yourself it may be worth taking a chance on the expensive seal.

I did it myself last year. Call Devin at Lapierre USA in Swanton,VT, he's the RO guru. He can set you up with the seals and bearing(s). He told me how to take the impeller off without breaking it which is what I needed to know. It was a lot easier to do than it first appeared.

How do you unscrew?

Take the bottom cover off of the motor and put Vice Grips on the shaft. If don't remember what I used on the impeller. It wasn't very tight and screwed right off when I was able to hold the motor shaft.
