After our last big sap run I did a hot soap wash and 200 gallon permeate flush as usual. Next day I soaked the membranes in citric acid with a ph of 2.5 . Theyve been soaking in acid 24 hours now. Am I okay to now flush my r.o. with permeate and process sap? Or do I have to do another soap after the acid? I see people doing a soap/ acid/soap routine at the end of season before storage. My membrane was performing fine. I was just being proactive with the acid wash as we have some big runs coming this week and want my r.o. to perform at 100%.

I would suggest another soap followed by a good rinse

Try a double wash sometime. Use 1-200 gallons of water per membrane for first rinse then full amount final rinse, or all of you have it, rinsing is a good thing. You'd be surprised how this can restore flow. When they professionally clean them they wash like 7 x and 2-3 acid rinses.
