I have a 5yo Econox 600. Looking at the new owners manual, I noticed for their sugar push they put the valve at 45°, so it's between the wash and rinse cycles. Why do they have it between the two settings, and can I do the same with mine? Being an older machine I wasn't sure if I was able to.

Also, can I switch between wash and concentrate settings without shutting machine down? This would be handy when I'm benchmarking at the end of the night. It seems like to me I should be able to, but I wasn't sure if it would do something to the machine.

Thanks

I think placing the valve all the way to rinse on the one membrane machine while doing the sugar push will shut down the machine, so they recommend putting it in between. Sometimes after the sugar is out, I move it all the way to rinse, I play around with it quite a bit and my membranes always test great. You can switch between wash and concentrate without shutting down, no problem.

Thanks Eagle. I've been switching between wash/concentrate and it does make things easier not shutting down/restarting.
