Buying sap

My neighbour has approached me about buying his sap as he doesn’t have time to boil this year. Neither of us is sure what is a fair price to pay for it? I know it will vary by region but what is the going rate for sap and how do you calculate it? I’m assuming it will vary based on sugar content?

There are several sap value calculators online. I found 1 on ohiomaple.org.
This 1 was supposedly developed with Cornell and Ohio State. Cornell also has a
Sap buying spreadsheet available for download.

I use Cornell's spread sheet, you will just need to correct it to Canadian currency.
