Had to clean the evaporator two days in a row

The niter build up has been so bad that I have had to clean the syrup pan two days in a row. I usually may clean in once during the season. Am I doing something wrong? Am I approaching the end of the season?

Stoney, Likely not doing anything wrong. As the season nears the end the pans are more likely to need cleaning, the niter gets worse in late season most usually.

The nitre was bad for me last season and is just as bad this season. I never had much of a problem with it before. I don't know if it's the warmer temperatures and lack of snow or just a normal cycle that the trees are in.

Some of the large producers will change pans mid boil because of nitre build up. I change mine when I've made 100 gallons but am doing it sooner now because of the excessive nitre. I'm filtering my front pan between boils now which helps.

I have a Leader Revolution front pan and clean it every day. Doesn't matter if I make 5 gallons or 40, it gets emptied and cleaned.
