I overcooked our first batch of syrup for this year. It's pretty much maple sugar. It's almost 5 gallons worth. I'm wondering if its possible to add this sugar to the next batch in the evaporator and make it back to syrup?? Is this possible? Any other suggestions??
Thanks!

You could mix with next batch. Or you could add some pure water and heat it to boiling.

As long as it isn't crystals then you can reconstitute any stage. Just add hot distilled water or boiled and filtered sap. You'll just have to add a little and bring to a boil then keep adjusting and checking until right.

There is some sugar crystals but it's not all solid. Think this will be ok to add to next boil down??

Yes you'll be ok just run it through a sieve and get the crystals out ( save them for candy). I'd go ahead and heat it and just thin it as is, why add it back. It won't take much liquid to bring it to correct density. Your just making more work adding it back.
The crystals will melt if boiled.
