I had Rob up at Northwoods Stainless make me up some covers for my evaporators. I wanted something that looked clean and professional to put on in the off season as well as at the end of the night after I'm done boiling. I am absolutely thrilled with the results. He does amazing quality work and turned them around very quickly. The price was right too!

Nice!

Side note... How is your RO working with your new Goulds pump. An RO is my next step.

My biggest disappointment with it is having to have purchased an additional feed pump for it. I was not expecting that. Other than that its great. Over the summer I will work with my buddy, who is a welder, to build a frame that properly supports the all the components for the RO. I'm getting it to remove about 100 gallons per hour and I cant really complain about that. I would prefer something that I could get the pressure up higher, but Im learning as I go along. Maybe I will end up selling this unit next season and building the one proper one for what I am trying to do. I know now I have the knowledge to build my own instead of having to purchase from others. I wont knock any manufacturers but my buddy paid big bucks for his RO and had to sit on 4000 gallons of sap this weekend that he couldn't process because his RO control panel burnt out and after 2 technician trips out they still couldn't fix it. He finally hot wired the system just to get through the sap.

Covers are a nice addition. As I bought each piece of equipment that was open top, I had or made covers for them. The WJ bottler and my head tank came with covers, I had ones made for my syrup pan, my 2x6 finisher made and I made them for each float box and outlet box, thus my finisher has 2 and the raised flue evaporator has 3. I made them on a tin shop box and pan break. When I leave for the night everything gets covered with a SS cover.

Good to hear he is back at it. I had called about getting some work done on my pans and was told he wouldn’t be doing any work until the spring. Have a few other things we need to get for next year!

I think he is just easing back into it. I am sure he appreciates the business and as you know will give you a high quality product. Just reach out to him again and I am sure he will get you on his schedule.

I'll get covers for my float boxes next and that will be all of my items that need covers having them.
