Thermometer

Sorry if this subject has been discussed in the past.
Anybody else struggle with finding a good accurate thermometer?
I have tried many and quite the variety. Good old candy thermometers to the digital kinds. I love my Thermopro, but again tonight the probe went to deep in sap and my thermometer went haywire. I have in the past used waterproof probes but I guess I grabbed wrongvtoday. What have you found to be the best? Accurate and easy to read.

I think calibrating often is key. Because we boil at a time of year with such drastic temperature swings along with other various factors that all seem to play a role in actual boil points, this is key to having our accuracy.
