Types of Tubing

I hope you Guys can help me out. In looking in the D & G cataloge and I'm not sure what all the codes mean for the 5/16" tubing, 42M, 60X, 60XL, 70X, 75X, 80X, 85X, 95X,???? Is that the differance in wall thickness?

I hope you can forgive my ignorance, but I'm not sure which tubing to order for drops and for laterals. I have decided on the Translucent Blue for the mainline.

I'd guess that the higher the # the greater the wall thickness. The 95X is semi-rigid and is warranteed for 15 years with the 70's and 80's numbers having a 10-year warrantee. The 60X and 60XL looks like rigid tubing. We went with the 95X (15-year) for our laterals and used the same for our droplines - which I cut myself instead of ordering them pre-cut. I've heard the argument that it doesn't make sense to get tubing warranteed for 15 years when the tees and spiles might only last 10 years. I'll let you know who's right in 6 years when when 10 years has passed for our 1st bush that we used 15-year semi-rigid in.

ennis has hit the nail on the head. i put up the 4 seasons 15years for years. i stopped and went to the blue ipl semi ridgid 10 year, for the reason the date on the fittings is the year to the date they break. had some dated 95 and in 06 they were breaking. and i found the fittings were starting to get loose also on the 15 year

The most of my pipeline trees are fence lines and what I was going to do is run a 3/4" main the full length and just put a saddle at each tree. So seeing that the majority of my 5/16" is drops I may as well just get line to match the life span as the fittings.
