I see many people boil tap water in their pans before the first sap gets boiled. Is this necessary if the pans were cleaned end of last season? Last year i soaked mine with sap for a month, pressure washer and towel dried my flue and syrup pans. Theyre like new and thinking I'm good to just rinse out with water to get the dust out. Any of you just wash out you pans and start cooking sap?

That's what I do. Just wash them thoroughly with plain water.

We boil or steam water every year before sap, never know what’s been crawling through and around your pans in the off season
