Sap Transfer Pump

Over the years I've turned to this site many times for valuable information. It's a great resource.

The last few weeks I've read through a lot of posts about sap transfer pumps - tons of information. From what I can gather (bad term I guess), there is no 'go to' pump that is food grade for the hobby guy moving 100-200 gallons at a time. Nothing that is repeatedly recommended.

Somebody should make one and advertise it on this site!

I noticed the other day that both Lowe's and Tractor Supply have stainless steel food grade pumps that are 120 volt. From the looks of all of the pumps that I have seen, I believe they may all be made by the same company with different colors and brands.

I checked out the stainless pump at TSC. Really slow for 1 hp. And it is oil filled, which I think would not be suitable for moving sap. $179. Non-oil sump pump seems a better option.
