Hey All,
I’m running membrane solutions roulp-2012-150 membranes in my 4x150 RO.
Are these membranes any good?
They seems spec’d at 60psi, 45F, 95% rejection.
Are there better membranes out there?
They seem to be working fine for me but curious what others are using.
Thanks
Bryan

Some Specs from today.
Started RO at 9AM and at 1:30 had the following figures.
Concentrate 7.85 Gallons
Permeate 31.4 Gallons
Total Sap Processed 39.25
Running my system at ~130 psi
Sap Temp was about 33F
Ambient Temp was 43F
Do these numbers make sense?
My system is 4x150 in series.
Thanks for any advice.
Bryan

I'd buy a sugar refractometer to check sugar content before and after, and probably a tds meter to check membrane performance.

Sap measures 1.3% (mostly reds).
Concentrate is coming out at 6+%
Permeate measures 0%
TDS of Concentrate is 413
TDS of Permeate is 2
As a comparison, my well water measures TDS 98 and my household RO for drinking water measures 2
It seems the RO is working well with regard to sugar concentration and not passing any sugar.
I'm more curious if my volumes of the system are in line with theoretical expectations.. This is where I have little knowledge...

Back of the envelop calculations suggest that you are spot on. You concentrated your sugar percent by a factor of four-ish and diminished the amount you have to boil by a factor of four-ish.

Hi - It seems like you were getting about 8.7 GPH total through your system. We run a 4x150 RO as well and we got 7.9GPH at 115 - 120PSI with temperatures about the same as what you were running with. From what we've been able to do, I think you're getting about all you can get out of your system.
