View Full Version : How do you bottle in maple leaf bottles?
One of our wholesale customers told us last year that they'd like some of our product in the "fancy maple leaf" bottles. We bought some bottles and tamper proof caps but we really don't know how to bottle in these. Everything we bottle now goes into mason jars. For these, we bottle hot, screw the lids on and lay them on their side for 15-20 minutes. What's the process for the maple leaf bottles with screw on plastic caps?
Thanks!

Same idea, do it the same way. Fill them as high as you can in the neck as it will settle down some. Pay attention so you don't make a mess. They do look nice when bottled with nice, clear syrup.

Since there is so much mass in the maple leaf bottles it is often helpful to preheat the glass so it feels warm before you bottle, that way the glass doesn't cool the syrup so far that you can't kill any mold spores when you lay the bottle on it's side. I also like to have my syrup at 188-190 for those bottles.

You will also have to tip the bottles from side to side to get trapped air out of the lobes
