Might just as well start now as wait …
It feels good to be getting ready to sugar after not sugaring last spring ..
We are adding a few taps this year … want to get to 300 ..
Have sold the 3 post RO vessels and membranes …
Going with two 4" posts and going to try the MES membranes ..
Started cleaning and setting up the sugarhouse today …
Looking at setting tanks next Monday …
Have everything ready to go before we tap ..

Hi Dave,

It's good to see you're back to sugaring this year. You're going to like the MES membranes. I put them in my RO last season and was very happy with the speed that they process at and that they don't pass sugar. You can't beat the price either. I bought two of them for what Lapierre wanted to charge me for one NF90 membrane.

I've got everything set up here and am going to tap this weekend.

Good luck with your season. I am starting to get everything ready for the season myself. Will look at the weather forecast this weekend and decide wether to tap or wait.

We will be dedicating this years Sugaring Season to our son who passed away last Tuesday evening …

Started putting tanks out Wednesday …. got 4 small tanks out and hooked up …
Going to finish the big tanks Sunday … rinse the RO on Monday
Looks like we are going to tap next weekend …..

Gathered 320 gallons of sap
Made 6 1/4 gallons of syrup

Boiled for 2 1/2 hours

Gathered 340 gallons of sap from Wednesday to Friday
Boiled for 3 hours
Made 7+ gallons of Amber
We are now at 40 gallons of syrup
At this time we would like to thank all of those who have helped us gather and boil
We have a Maple Rookie this year … Brooke … and she is doing great!!!
