So my old mechanical releaser screwed up, and somehow sap got through the moisture trap, and went through the pump. This is a dry vane pump. Still seems to pump. Ran a few minutes dry. Is it messed up? Does it need pulling apart? Never had to deal with this before. Any help appreciated!

Hey Tim,

I have a couple Gast 1550 pumps i run, I have sucked sap through them in the past, at least on my pump there was no issues, later on i ended up adding oilers to my pump and a secondary moisture trap right at the pump, it will it will shut the pump down and auto drain and restart if the gets too much sap in the moisture trap. i did all this because at the time i was having issues with the sap extractor vapor locking.

When did you tap? I still have not yet.
