Glad no one was hurt. Hopefully insurance covers the loss and they can rebuild for next year.

Every year we have a couple of these sugar house fires. It is very sad for us to read as we all know what goes into building a sugaring operation!

My cousin had his burn in the 90s. That ended many years/decades of syruping, until I started back 11 years ago. Of course the old operation was hundreds of taps and I just do it as a hobby with 100-110 taps. Of course this year I have ended up with 125...hard to pass up some of those nice big maples around the field.

For us it would not just be the equipment or building. It was the labor of love building and designing and collecting the right stuff to do it our way. It is too bad when one is lost and the only positive is nobody was hurt.
