I'm getting things ready for the season here and remembered that my squirrel cage blower had some issues last year. I know that I should for sure give it a good cleaning and possibly lubricate something. It's installed on the bottom of my Smoky Lake 2x5.

There are likely small oil ports on each end of the blower housing and likely the same on the motor. They will just look like a small ripple in the steel, with a small hole leading to the bushing. Just put 1-2 drops of a light oil (like 3 in 1 or gun oil) in once a year, do not over oil.

A small brush to clean the fins of the squirrel cage works well. They tend to get full of dust which cuts down on the amount of air the fan is pushing.
