I am upgrading my homemade RO and thinking about getting a multistage glouds pump. (7gbs10 or 10gbs15 ) I have 2 xle - 4040 membranes and may add a third. I don’t want to exceed the 14 gpm flow rate on the membranes. So my question is if I am feedIng one of the pumps ( 7ghc10 or 10gbc15 ) with a feed pump at 50 psi what does that do to the flow rate at 250 psi. Does it change it and if so by how much? Glouds flow chart is with zero feed pressure. I call glouds pump and the tech I talked with was no help. If anyone runs One of these pumps please let me know what your flow is and the psi you run at. Thanks

Go with the 10gbs15, it will handle the third 4040 membrane. I run (2) 3-membrane setups, recirculate 275 gallon(tote) batches to 12%. Set the pressure at 150 psi, permeate will begin at 3-3.25 gpm (per unit) then reduce to .5 gal or less. (will be in the 12% range) Pressure will climb to around 165 psi. We then use the next 275 gallon batch to rinse the membranes and push the concentrate to the evaporator tank. Pressure will drop back to 150 psi, permeate raises to 3.25 gpm. Takes about an hour to process a 275 gallon batch (temperature makes a big difference). We first used 1-10GB15, and 1-7GBS10. The 7GBS10 would overheat and kickout on overload. Processed 27000 gallon of sap last year. You can expect half with 1 unit. We do soap wash on the last run of the day! Have not clogged a membrane since we began running lower pressure!
