Put out a test tap yesterday. It started flowing today and refractometer says it's 2.50 percent sugar so put in 30 taps on 3/16 line. Weather looks good for awhile. If sugar contents stays up, I will put in more taps. I need some sap to try a new homemade RO. Hope you all have a good season.

Added 60 tap today, looks like sap weather for 7 out 12 days. Certified hyperactive workaholic so you may not want to start tapping based on my stupitedy. I just like to making early syrup and hate late syrup from "Bud Light" sap! Good luck whenever you tap!

Ended up with 505 gals so far from Sat to Tues from 90 taps. Two percent sap. Taste is super. This time the early tap worked. Have 130 taps that will wait until Feb. Gave me a chance to learn how RO works.

Shaker sugar,
Good luck, I had 120 taps out early and have made almost 20 gallon. It was a good year to start early, will see how long they last. Will put out another 60 this week.

I was looking at my post last year when I had 20 Gallons on Feb19th. This year I have a big 3 gallons. It will finally be running hard for the next 2 weeks, a more normal season than the past 3 winters. Longer days but a quicker, more efficient season, all good for an old man.
Happy sugaring to all of you!!
